In which states can I purchase a test?

AcuDart tests are currently available to residents in all states except New York.

How do I ship the kit back from with the USA?

After drawing your blood sample, please drop the package off at the post office. For best results, take the package to the counter so it gets scanned immediately. Do not drop the package in a blue USPS mailbox if possible.

How do I ship the kit back from Canada?

IMPORTANT: Please follow the following steps to return your sample from Canada.

1. Affix the included FedEx pouch to the outside of the return mailer

2. Fill out the Commercial Invoice and insert it into the FedEx pouch

3. Place the shipping label on the return mailer

4. Drop off at a FedEx facility

How do I ship the kit back from countries other than USA and Canada?

IMPORTANT: Please follow the following steps to return your sample.

1. Affix the Commercial Invoice pouch to the outside of the return mailer

2. Fill out the Commercial Invoice and insert it into the pouch

3. Ship with your carrier of choice, such as FedEx, UPS, or DHL. Payment is your responsibility.

Who can order a test?

To purchase a test you must be 18 years old or older. However, a person of any age can take the test.

How long does the testing process take?

Once your order is complete, your package will be shipped out of our fulfillment warehouse and you will receive your order within 2-8 business days. Once your sample reaches the lab, they will begin processing the sample. Typically, you will see your results within 3-5 business days of the lab having started the processing stage.

Who should get tested?

Many tick-borne illnesses such as Lyme disease have been reported in all 50 states. If you live or have traveled to a state where tick-borne infections are endemic, this increases your risk. Infections can also occur in Europe and Asia, where Lyme disease species Borrelia garinii and Borrelia afzelii are most commonly found.

Do you accept health insurance or FSA/HSA as payment?

We don't accept insurance or FSA/HSA at this time. We work to keep our tests as affordable as possible and our test costs are generally lower than the costs incurred from a trip to a healthcare provider.

How accurate are my results?

AcuDart tests have the highest sensitivity and specificity in the industry. The reason AcuDart is superior is because it detects more pathogens and uses a newer testing technique involving recombinant antigens.

What is a physician authorization fee?

AcuDart tests are lab developed tests, and therefore need a physician authorization before they can be performed. You do not need to see a physician before ordering the test. The fee is included with the purchase of your test.

Can I purchase a test for someone else?

Yes, you can order kits for others, such as friends, co-workers, or family members. The person you give the kit to would draw their blood, activate the kit at acudarthealth.com, and ship back the blood sample.

Activating the kit is a form where we collect information from the actual test taker (not necessarily the person who purchased the test).

What does Activate Your Kit mean?

The person who buys the kit is not always the same as the one who takes the test. Activating the kit is a form where we collect information from the actual test taker. We also collect the time the blood was drawn.

How do I get my results?

You will be sent a link to a secure online portal when your results are ready to view.

What do the tests detect?

The AcuDart tests look for both an IgM and IgG antibody response to an infection, but they do not distinguish between IgM and IgG nor provide speciation like more expensive tests will do, such as the IGeneX ImmunoBlot. AcuDart tests provide a simple Positive/Negative result.
